Business Process & Governance Manager - International Programs

Regular Employment

Location: Bratislava, SK

What if you could help define the future of how a global insurance leader makes decisions? What if your work didn't just improve processes — but fundamentally shaped how an entire business moves into a tech-enabled world? At Swiss Re, that opportunity is real, and it's waiting for you.

About the Role

This is not a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo. As Business Process & Transformation Manager for International Programs (IP), you will be at the heart of one of Swiss Re's most exciting transformation journeys — helping Corporate Solutions (CorSo)  evolve into a smarter, faster, and more automated organisation.

You will lead process improvement initiatives, drive meaningful change, and work at the intersection of business strategy, operations, and technology. You will have the rare opportunity to define what comes next — building frameworks, shaping ways of working, and leaving a lasting mark on the future of International Programs. If you are energised by complexity, thrive on bringing clarity to ambiguity, and love seeing change actually land, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end process transformation — identify, design, and drive improvements to business processes across the IP decision ecosystem, from concept through to sustainable implementation and business-as-usual handover
  • Champion change across the organisation — coordinate and lead change initiatives, keeping cross-functional stakeholders aligned, accountable, and engaged throughout the full change lifecycle
  • Bridge business and technology — translate complex business policies and underwriting requirements into practical, scalable operational solutions, working closely with Technology teams to develop tooling that supports rule management and automation capabilities
  • Define and steward governance standards — build and continuously improve governance frameworks, controls, ownership structures, and accountability models that ensure transparency, auditability, and compliance across IP decision processes
  • Drive process excellence — conduct impact assessments, analyse operational data, and surface optimisation opportunities that improve efficiency, quality, and performance across the IP ecosystem
  • Enable responsible innovation — support the adoption of AI-enabled and automation capabilities, ensuring that governance, risk considerations, and transparency are embedded from the very beginning
  • Manage knowledge and continuity — maintain clear documentation, process ownership, and performance monitoring practices that protect institutional knowledge and support long-term operational resilience
  • Collaborate across functions and regions — partner with Business, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and senior stakeholders across geographies to deliver outcomes that are both strategically aligned and practically grounded

About the Team

The IP Proposition Development team is a strategic enabler of the International Programs portfolio at Swiss Re's CorSo business. Working closely with the IP Sponsor and the broader IP community, we drive global capability development that is actively shaping the next generation of International Programs.

We are a team that challenges established ways of working, develops innovative solutions, and builds the capabilities that will define how CorSo operates in a tech-enabled future. With strong international exposure, we partner across regions and functions — including underwriting, operations, finance, and technology — making this a uniquely broad and stimulating environment to grow and contribute.

About You

You are a process-oriented change leader — someone who gets energy from rolling up their sleeves, navigating complexity, and making transformation actually happen. You are pragmatic and structured, but also curious and open to new ways of thinking. You build trust naturally, communicate with clarity, and know how to bring people along on a journey of change. You do not just manage projects — you lead them with purpose, and you care deeply about the lasting impact of your work.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Hands-on process improvement experience — proven track record of leading and delivering process improvement or process redesign initiatives in complex, cross-functional environments, with demonstrable outcomes
  • Change leadership in practice — demonstrated experience leading organisational or operational change end-to-end, including stakeholder engagement, communication, resistance management, and embedding new ways of working
  • Business-to-technology translation — ability to convert business needs, policies, and requirements into operational and technical solutions, and to work effectively with technology teams as a business partner
  • Analytical thinking and structured communication — strong ability to assess complex situations, facilitate workshops and discussions, and present recommendations clearly and convincingly to diverse audiences including senior stakeholders
  • Governance and control mindset — solid understanding of governance principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks within complex organisations, with the ability to design and implement practical controls without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Fluent English — excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across international teams and with senior stakeholders

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with automation, digital workflows, AI-enabled solutions, or business rules engines — and an appreciation of their governance and risk implications
  • Experience working in or with multinational insurance operations, particularly International Programs or Corporate Solutions environments
  • Experience building governance models, operating frameworks, or centres of excellence from the ground up
  • Comfort operating in a fast-changing environment where the roadmap is still being written
