About the Role

As an Automation Engineer within the Underwriting Solutions Centre at Swiss Re, you will design, develop and test automated underwriting solutions within Magnum – Swiss Re's automated underwriting platform used by clients globally.

You will be a hands-on member of the development team, working across requirements analysis, development, testing and implementation. At the same time, you will have opportunities to take ownership of delivery activities, coordinate stakeholders and contribute to cross-functional projects.

The role therefore combines technical delivery with opportunities to develop broader project and leadership responsibilities.

  • Use automation, AI and reusable solutions to continuously improve delivery efficiency and quality.

Project & Delivery Ownership

  • Take ownership of assigned solutions and initiatives from requirements through implementation.

  • Contribute to planning, estimation and coordination of work within an Agile/Scrum environment, progressively taking broader delivery ownership

  • Coordinate activities, dependencies, risks and priorities across technical and business teams.

  • Contribute to broader projects and delivery initiatives based on business needs.

  • Proactively identify delivery challenges and drive them toward resolution.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, underwriters, architects, developers and other stakeholders across global teams.

  • Communicate progress, risks, dependencies and technical topics clearly to both business and technical audiences.

  • Help navigate competing priorities and facilitate pragmatic decisions across business and technical stakeholders

  • Mentor colleagues, share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement.

  • Progressively take ownership of broader delivery and stakeholder responsibilities based on experience and development.

About the Team

The Underwriting Solutions Centre brings together business, underwriting and technical expertise to deliver and continuously improve automated underwriting solutions for our clients globally.

You will join a collaborative and globally connected team where you can develop both your technical expertise and broader delivery and leadership capabilities.

About You

You are a proactive and collaborative professional who enjoys solving technical problems while also seeing the bigger delivery picture.

You take ownership, communicate confidently and are comfortable working with different stakeholders. You enjoy hands-on technical work but are also interested in developing your capabilities in project delivery, stakeholder management and leadership.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in technology, automation, software delivery or a related field.

  • Experience coordinating projects, workstreams or cross-functional activities, or a demonstrated interest in taking on broader delivery responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience with development, configuration, testing or implementation of technical solutions.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and coordination skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive work through to completion.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to understand technical concepts and work effectively across business and technical teams.

These are additional nice to haves:
