Accountant

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate, and reliable financial reports in compliance with IFRS17 and K-ICS regulatory requirements
- Monitor and reconcile financial data to ensure completeness and accuracy across all reporting cycles
- Support the quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across actuarial, risk, tax, and finance functions to ensure consistent and aligned financial outputs
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of financial reporting
- Assist in regulatory submissions and liaise with local regulators and auditors as required
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures in line with evolving local and international standards
- Contribute to transformation initiatives within the GFO&T framework, supporting the continuous evolution of finance operations
About the Team
The SRAL Korea Finance team is part of Swiss Re's Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) division. Based in Seoul, our team is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting locally, with a strong focus on Korean regulatory frameworks including IFRS17 and K-ICS. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- IFRS17 expertise: Solid understanding and hands-on experience with IFRS17 financial reporting standards
- K-ICS knowledge: Familiarity with Korean Insurance Capital Standard (K-ICS) regulatory requirements and reporting
- Accounting qualifications: Relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in financial reporting and general ledger accounting
- Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyse complex financial data, identify discrepancies, and provide accurate, well-reasoned conclusions
- Regulatory reporting experience: Proven track record of preparing and submitting financial reports in compliance with local and international regulatory requirements [blank | PDF]
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience working within the insurance or reinsurance industry
- Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Exposure to finance transformation projects or process improvement initiatives
- Strong communication skills in both Korean and English, enabling effective collaboration with local and global stakeholders
- Experience working in a multinational or matrix organisation, navigating cross-functional teams and diverse working styles
- Knowledge of actuarial concepts and the ability to work closely with actuarial teams on financial reporting deliverables
