This series revisits the standards of exotic landscape photography which we are used to in western culture. Starting with negatives Mandry had shot in the South of Asia, his idea was to confront the reality of a tropical region with our consolidated vision of such lands through the use of a peculiar photographic process.The title "Five Minutes to the Sun" refers to the process as would the title of a utopist novel, an idealistic journey in which none of these pictures have actually seen the sun, since they're generated through artificial light.
