Description

In his photographic work, Balthasar Burkhard brings together seemingly disparate motifs such as an ear, a knee, an arm, torso, orchid, snail or wing into an aesthetic cosmos in such a way that the creation loses its photographic nature. In combination with coloured panels, frequently used by Burkhard in exhibitions since the 1980s, his outsize black-and-white photographs take on a "painted" quality bridging the two media.
