Description

The two landscapes Fullmoon at Tasman Gorge and Fullmoon at Autumnal Alps captured by Darren Almond connect Australia with Switzerland, home of Swiss Re.

Both works are from a series that saw the artist travel to the earth's "edges", shooting with a long exposure under the full moon's light. The resulting photographs are dreamy, nocturnal landscapes, with the Swiss Alps and the Tasman Gorge each photographed in different seasons. The lush, green landscape around the North Esk River in Tasmania contrasts with the wintery brown snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps. These two entirely different worlds, brought together in Almond's photographs, are also connected by Swiss Re's global reach.
