Dr. Alex Sturm Chief Scientific Officer Resistell

Dr Alex Sturm is the Chief Scientific Officer of the Swiss Medtech company Resistell. He is an expert in microbiology and infectious disease research, holding a PhD from ETH Zurich and postdoctoral experience at Columbia University and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where he worked on Mycobacterium tuberculosis in antibiotic-tolerant states. Since joining Resistell in 2020, he has played a key role in advancing both the preclinical and clinical development of nanomotion-based antibiotic susceptibility testing. This cutting-edge technology delivers ultra-rapid results and is being developed to address critical infections such as sepsis, urinary tract infections, and lung infections.
