About the Role

This role is senior expert role and serves as the key technical specialist for the Asia Division Non-Life Actuarial Reserving Asia team on matters of:
•  Regulatory reporting development across all jurisdictions in an evolving data and AI landscape
•  IFRS17 migration preparation from RCP to FPSL
•  Data issues across all systems including balancing the needs of regulatory vs group requirements
•  Data preparation, issues and other matters arising from the major infrastructure change as part of the legacy decommissioning project
•  Advancing the integration of coding applications and AI into the team

Additionally, it is expected that the role will involve mentoring junior staff and supporting their career development in an evolving environment.

Core Responsibilities
•  Ownership for the development and delivery of IFRS4 standardised reporting platform for all branches inclusive of
•  Automation and Maintenance of Quarterly Reserve Balances (Non-SRCS Shanghai)
•  Development and Assumption setting in Planning and Projection models (including scenario testing)
•  Maintenance of local required risk margins and claims handling expenses
•  Support for development of simpler reporting SRCS Shanghai
•  Act as the key coordinator between Asia AAs and the global team in development of automated, standardised Actuarial Valuation Reports to ensure adequate coverage and applicability to local requirements..
•  Act as the key owner for resolving long-standing and emerging data issues across all aspects of the reserving process (bookings, SPIRE, LLM, IFRS17)
•  Develop tools to support Global Line of Business reserving teams/SPIRE/Local AAs in bridging the gap Local Regulatory Requirements.
•  Support local branch management reporting with standardisation.
•  Assist in technical matters on the Legacy Decommission Project (LDP) impacting local Asia branch requirements including in collaboration with finance and risk management.
•  AA SRI Singapore (for the right candidate and subject to approval)
•  Mentor Junior staff

About the Team

About You
•  Proven leadership and management skills in a global environment.
•  Expert systems knowledge and understanding
•  Expert understanding of IFRS4 and IFRS17 accounting bases
•  High proficiency coding skills (R preferably) or willingness to learn fast
•  Willingness, persistence and patience to pursue ideas to full understanding
•  Experience mentoring junior staff across both technical and career development
•  Fellowship qualifications from an internationally recognised actuarial organization
•  Ability to collaborate with technical staff and build consensus on maximally standard solutions for non-standard problems
•  Ability to work independently on solution development.
•  Proficient in English; additional Asian language skills (e.g. Mandarin or Cantonese) are an advantage
