Senior Architect
Location: Bratislava, SK
In this role, you will become the strategic architecture authority for Digital & Tech Asset Management (D&T AM), ensuring alignment with Swiss Re’s enterprise-wide architecture vision and business priorities. You will act as a senior architectural leader, driving measurable improvements in platform resilience, engineering productivity and data-centric transformation while maintaining enterprise-grade security and cost discipline.
Working closely with the EA leadership team, Design Authority, domain architects, and senior business and IT stakeholders, you will ensure our platforms, data ecosystems, and integration capabilities evolve in a secure, scalable, and future-ready manner.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise & Solution Architecture Leadership
- Own the AM Landscape design. Define and maintain the target architecture vision, principles, standards, and technology roadmap for D&T Asset Management aligned with enterprise strategy and business outcomes.
- Serve as the senior architecture authority for the division, define architectural guardrails and govern alignment of solution designs with target-state architecture, technology selection, and major transformation initiatives.
- Translate complex technical and architectural topics into clear business decisions and executive-level recommendations.
- Ensure alignment with Business Architecture & Capability Management.
Data Architecture & Information Strategy
- Define and evolve the division’s data architecture strategy, including data flows, integration patterns, data models, lineage, governance, and platform interoperability.
- Guide architecture decisions related to data platforms, APIs, event-driven integration, master/reference data, and AI-enabled data capabilities.
Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Drive technology modernization and evaluate emerging capabilities through PoCs and assessments, ensuring scalable adoption of enterprise-aligned platforms.
- Champion Generative AI capabilities, AI-augmented engineering practices, and intelligent automation - evaluating enterprise AI platforms for productivity and operational impact.
- Drive remediation of tech debt.
Enterprise Representation
- Represent D&T Asset Management in Swiss Re enterprise architecture forums, governance bodies, and strategic technology discussions.
- Influence enterprise-wide technology direction through active contribution to architecture standards, reference architectures, patterns, and governance processes.
Governance & Operational Resilience
- Lead architecture reviews and enforce architecture standards, security requirements, resilience objectives, and operational excellence goals.
- Ensure consistent documentation and application of architecture principles and standards across the division.

About You

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise or domain architecture and technology strategy within complex IT environments
- Proven expertise in data architecture concepts including data modeling, integration architecture, governance, data lineage, and distributed data ecosystems
- Experience driving large-scale modernization and transformation initiatives in complex, regulated environments
- Demonstrated understanding of AI and intelligent automation in enterprise IT contexts — including Generative AI adoption, LLM-based tooling, AI governance frameworks, and their practical applications such as developer copilots, AIOps, automated testing, and documentation generation — combined with strong awareness of responsible AI principles, data privacy, and compliance
- Proven ability to collaborate across leadership levels and influence effectively in complex, matrixed organizational structures
These are additional nice to haves:
- Familiarity with asset management technology and the specific platforms, data, and regulatory landscape of the financial services industry
- Experience in vendor management and technology partnerships, with a track record of successful collaboration with external technology providers
- Hands-on experience with Enterprise Architecture tools
- Experience defining or contributing to an enterprise AI strategy or AI governance framework, including responsible AI principles, model risk management, and AI ethics considerations
- TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
- Experience contributing to or leading architecture governance bodies and design authority forums
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 3,200] and [EUR 5,300] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
