Investment Operations Intern (Part-time - Student Role)

Join our Asset Management Operations team and contribute to the day-to-day investment operations of one of the world's leading reinsurance companies. This part-time student role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Asset Management Operations while learning from experienced professionals.
About the Role
As an Investment Operations Intern, you will support the Client Readiness Solutions team in managing the lifecycle of investment accounts across Swiss Re's global network of custodian banks. You will primarily support investment account maintenance and closures, while also assisting with new account openings, preparing documentation and reports, communicating with custodian banks and internal stakeholders, and helping improve processes through automation and AI.
You will receive training, guidance and support from experienced colleagues as you learn the role. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you will gradually take ownership of your responsibilities and work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the opening, maintenance and closure of investment accounts with global custodian banks and in our internal systems
- Prepare documentation related to investment accounts and KYC processes
- Maintain investment account static data and support data quality activities
- Prepare reports, analyses and presentations using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Communicate with internal stakeholders, custodian banks and other financial institutions
About the Team
Our Asset Management Operations team creates an efficient operating environment that supports all financial market activities conducted by Swiss Re. As a back-office function, we ensure the seamless execution of investment processes. Our company invests in a multitude of innovative products and asset classes, including catastrophe bonds, infrastructure loans, private equity funds, derivatives and many more.

About You
You're a curious university student interested in starting a career in Asset Management or Investment Operations. You enjoy learning, solving problems and taking ownership of your work.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- University student
- Interest in financial markets and Asset Management
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Curious mindset and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently after an initial training period
- Interest in automation and AI tools is an advantage
The minimum gross hourly base salary for this role is 8 EUR part time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
