Finance Operations & Reporting Analyst (Hybrid; m/f/x/d; 80-100%)
Location: Luxembourg, LU
Are you an emerging finance professional with a keen interest in regulatory and statutory reporting, data analytics, and process improvement? Join our dynamic team in Luxembourg where you will contribute to the execution of carrier reporting processes — and where your work directly supports compliant, data-driven, and future-ready financial reporting across European and global operations.
About the Role
As a Legal Entity Finance Operations & Reporting Analyst, you will support the delivery of local regulatory and statutory reporting activities, contribute to data analysis, and assist in process improvement initiatives across the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional looking to build deep expertise in regulatory reporting, financial operations, and finance transformation within a global reinsurance environment.
Working closely with experienced colleagues and senior Finance stakeholders, you will contribute to statutory (Lux GAAP) and regulatory (Solvency II, Solvency UK) reporting for Swiss Re Europe (SRE) and Swiss Re International (SRI) head offices and their branches in Luxembourg, while developing your analytical and reporting capabilities in line with the GFO&T ambition.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to local reporting activities for Luxembourg entities and their branches (e.g. local statutory, Solvency II, Solvency UK, intra-group retrocessions), working within defined guidelines to help ensure timely, accurate, and compliant submissions
- Assist in the analysis of financial and operational data to help identify trends, risks, and process inefficiencies — supporting the translation of data into clear and actionable insights under the guidance of senior team members
- Contribute to Legal Entity and GFO&T strategic initiatives by performing assigned quantitative and qualitative analysis tasks, supporting implementation activities, and helping track progress against key milestones
- Help prepare reporting materials and data packs for senior management and regulatory decision-making, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency in close collaboration with the wider Finance team
- Support process improvement efforts by assisting in the analysis of existing carrier finance and reporting workflows and contributing to the identification of standardisation and automation opportunities
- Assist in the development and rollout of the Legal Entity Dashboard, supporting testing activities, parallel run tasks, and contributing to user adoption efforts under the direction of senior colleagues
- Support regional and global Carrier Management activities, including preparation of materials, logistics for meetings, and assistance with training and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Contribute to regulatory reporting governance by supporting the maintenance and enhancement of controls, documentation, and data quality processes as directed
About the Team
GFO&T is the division responsible for accounting and reporting of accurate and consistent financial information for Swiss Re globally — for external reporting and internal analysis facilitating strategic decision-making. This includes IFRS reporting as well as statutory financial information for all Swiss Re legal entities, including SST, Solvency II, Solvency UK, and local regulatory reporting requirements.
GFO&T spearheads the transformation of Global Finance, streamlining it towards a simpler, more effective, forward-looking organisation with increased use of automation, analytics, and digital capabilities. Joining GFO&T means being part of a team that is not just keeping pace with change — it is leading it.
About You
You are a curious, motivated, and detail-oriented finance professional who is eager to grow your expertise in regulatory reporting and financial operations. You are comfortable working with data and enjoy contributing to team goals in a structured and collaborative environment. You follow instructions and guidelines carefully, ask the right questions, and are proactive in seeking feedback and learning from experienced colleagues. You bring a positive attitude, a willingness to take on new challenges, and a genuine interest in building a career in finance within a global organisation.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- 1-2 years of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory reporting, or finance operations, ideally within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services
- Good analytical and data skills, with the ability to work with financial datasets and contribute to data-driven reporting tasks. Some familiarity with data analytics or visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, or similar) is an advantage
- Mindset of curiosity and mental agility for continuing enhancement and problem solving around AI driven initiatives and project work
- General understanding of financial processes, reporting standards, and controls, with a willingness to develop knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory frameworks (Solvency II, Lux GAAP) on the job
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage assigned tasks reliably and meet deadlines under the guidance of a manager or team leader
- Fluency in English is required (working language of the team); French is desirable given the Luxembourg-based environment and regular interaction with local stakeholders and regulatory bodies
These are additional nice to haves:
- Some exposure to re/insurance finance environments
- Awareness of IFRS accounting standards or financial close processes
- Interest in or exposure to automation, digital tools, or process improvement in a finance context
