About the Role
Reporting directly to the SVP, Head of People US, you will support a broad range of HR activities across the employee lifecycle, combining hands-on execution with advisory support. You’ll work closely with HR Partners, managers, and employees to address day-to-day people matters, contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives, and help deliver a consistent, high-quality HR experience.
This is a fast-paced, collaborative role with the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of HR topics, including employee relations, performance management, development, and people-related aspects of organizational change. You’ll build relationships across the business while contributing to ongoing improvements in how HR supports the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with HR Partners to support the delivery of HR activities and initiatives across the business, and lead selected projects as appropriate
- Support the implementation and interpretation of HR policies and procedures, providing guidance to managers and employees
- Contribute to HR reporting and data analysis, supporting business insights and ongoing reporting requirements
- Assist in administering employee performance, leadership and development programs
- Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes and employee experience, contributing to continuous improvement in delivery, clarity, and consistency
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, supporting the ongoing maintenance of HR policies and procedures
- Provide HR advisory support to employees and managers on a range of topics, including absence, conduct, grievances, and organizational change
- Serve as primary backup for HR Partners, with opportunities to support or rotate across other HR areas (e.g. HR Operations, Onboarding)
About the Team
The US People team is a collaborative and tightly connected group supporting employees across the business. The team includes HR Partners, HR Operations, and Data Analytics, working together to deliver end-to-end HR support and a consistent employee experience.
The team is closely aligned with Centers of Excellence such as Talent Acquisition, Reward, Benefits, and Payroll, enabling strong partnership across the broader HR function. You’ll be part of a small, high-impact team with direct exposure to senior HR leadership and the opportunity to contribute across a range of HR topics and priorities.
About You
You are a thoughtful and proactive HR professional who brings sound judgment and a data-driven, solutions-oriented approach to your work. You enjoy working with managers and employees on a range of people topics and are comfortable balancing day-to-day execution with broader project contributions.
You are organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You care about creating an inclusive employee experience and supporting teams in ways that are fair, thoughtful, and practical, enabling our people to do their best work. You are curious and eager to learn, with an interest in building your experience across different areas of HR and developing your skills over time.
We are looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:
- 4+ years of broad HR experience, with exposure to core areas such as employee relations, performance management, or HR operations, ideally within a global or matrixed corporate environment
- Experience working directly with managers and employees to address day-to-day HR topics and provide practical guidance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience contributing to HR projects or initiatives, with the ability to take ownership of defined workstreams
- Working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law, with the ability to apply them consistently and thoughtfully
- Experience working with HRIS data and reporting; ability to use data to support insights and decision-making
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and functions
- A practical, resourceful approach, with sound judgment and a willingness to engage on a range of HR topics
- Exposure to insurance or reinsurance helpful but not required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; SHRM, PHR, or GPHR certification helpful
The estimated base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $134,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short- and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average.
