New L&H Underwriting roles and appointments to support your goals and growth

New forms of technology, data, distribution and risk selection all affect how Life & Health underwriting connects and onboards customers. At Swiss Re,  we're building our capabilities to help you maintain the strength of your traditional core underwriting while you transform and get ready for the future of underwriting.

To that end, we've created the "Underwriting Propositions Lead" – a new, senior role designed to deliver a more coordinated strategic underwriting capability. It's an expert who can draw on our broad expertise and global insights to help you take advantage of core services, new solutions, automation, data insights, technological advancement, partnerships, the latest R&D and much more.

We're pleased to announce that Nichole Myers will take on this role for the Americas, effective January 20.  Nichole joins Swiss Re from MIB Inc., where she was tasked with launching and establishing a market presence for their new Electronic Health Record initiative.  In her insurance career, she has held a diverse set of roles across Underwriting and Sales Operations at a direct carrier and a reinsurer. While Nichole's background and formal training is in Life Underwriting, she has spent the last years focused on UW technology and process improvements. She is passionate about the opportunity to use her unique insight into the end-to-end customer experience to deliver meaningful customized solutions for you.

In early December John Turner filled this new role for EMEA. He's ready to bring our suite of capabilities, tools, insights and solutions to you, in an even more coordinated manner, working with you to determine the best solution(s) for your current strategic challenges.

In addition, we're pleased to welcome Dr. Elyssa Del Valle as the new Chief Medical Officer for the Americas.  In her role, Dr. Del Valle will lead Swiss Re's team of medical directors across the Americas and will partner with our underwriters on large and complex cases. Dr. Del Valle joins Swiss Re from RGA, where she was Medical Director for the reinsurer's US Mortality Markets Division. She serves on the American Academy of Insurance Medicine (AAIM) scientific program committee and their executive committee.  Dr Del Valle also serves on the board of the Metropolitan Underwriting Discussion Group (MUD) and Northeast Home Office Underwriter Association (NEHOUA).  She is board certified in insurance medicine.

We look forward to finding new ways for our people and expertise to become your problem solvers.
