Though found in most project covers, LEG 2, and to some extent, LEG 3 clauses are extremely difficult to interpret and often lead to controversial post-loss coverage debates.
It's essential to have a good grasp of both and what they exclude, along with clear guidance from technical experts. The latter is particularly important when new materials or technology are introduced. Detailed pre-loss documentation of performed checks can also provide a solid basis for the later assessment.
