Presentation and Q&A - Modelling flood risk in a changing climate

As climate change makes extreme events more frequent and severe, rapid urbanisation and economic growth across Asia Pacific are magnifying the losses when they occur. From densely populated cities in East Asia to vulnerable island nations in the Pacific, communities face escalating flood risks, while insurers are under growing pressure to assess and price these exposures with greater precision.

To meet this challenge, Swiss Re has strengthened its climate risk capabilities through the integration of Fathom, a global leader in water risk intelligence and flood modelling. Together, we provide advanced, data-driven tools that help organisations analyse, understand, and respond to evolving flood and climate risks — enabling better decision-making and resilience building.

This session will showcase:

  • Innovative solutions that help clients measure, manage, and mitigate climate-related risks.
  • Fathom’s state-of-the-art flood models, quantifying risk under current and future climate scenarios.
  • Real-world case studies demonstrating how clients are applying these tools to strengthen flood risk assessment and build climate resilience.

Please note: This session will take place within Swiss Re’s hospitality suite at SIRC. Access requires a valid SIRC pass. To register for SIRC, please click here.
