One year into the COVID-19 pandemic, the fight against the virus and its spread continues. We have all experienced the disruptions to our lives and seen the impact it has on our global economy, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Our latest SONAR 2021report highlights the long-term impact of the pandemic, as well as explores a range of emerging risks and trends for the re/insurance industry.
We would like to invite you to join us as we share more from the report and explore how these risks can affect the re/insurance landscape in Japan. During the session, Martin Weymann, Head Sustainability, Emerging & PRM, Group Qualitative Risk Management, Swiss Re, will provide an update on the longer-term health burden as a result of the pandemic. He will also explore what it means to restart business operations after its suspension due to COVID-19. Yuji Watanabe, Chief Risk Officer, Reinsurance, Japan, will touch on other emerging risk topics including the hidden risks in health-tracking wearables as well as the risks around efforts in the insurance business to advance decarbonisation and net-zero emissions.
