About the course

Have you got the edge?

Insurance is changing. All along the value chain, insurance is going digital.

What does this mean for your company? Data is becoming your most valuable asset. Effectively understanding and using that data is your edge. It could be the difference between success and failure. This programme is for executives and senior managers who want to understand the capabilities of modern analytics methods. You will create a problem statement and together we address the data, models, decision points, and value chains needed to solve that problem. We will then consider how to tactically navigate the common pitfalls that cause ML / AI project failures.

In this final and third part of Swiss Re Institute's Analytics Edge Programme journey, you will look at four new modules allowing you the opportunity to:

  • Leverage mathematical simulation in three simple steps while building your skills to determine when to use simulations and why it can be an appropriate mathematical tool.
  • Use predictive modelling for instances where outcomes are asymmetrical, you will seek to minimize error, define model interventions and validate your results.
  • Manage interpretable clustering techniques to segment a client base with a predictive algorithm to obtain insights and define a client base.
  • Utilise algorithms to optimise human judgement in a scheduling scenario where the increase in revenue is also augmented.
