Shigekuni Inoue is an Executive Fellow (Former Managing Executive Officer, General Manager of Environment, Safety and Quality Division) at AGC Inc., a Representative of the Consortium on the Safety Culture Assessment as well as a Specially Appointed Professor of Institute for Social Innovation and Cooperation of Niigata University.

He graduated from the Department of Science and Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at Waseda University, and joined Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. (Currently AGC Inc.) in 1984.

He worked for manufacturing production facilities, mainly in the glass business, as a mechanical engineer and engaged in various construction projects in Japan and overseas.

In 2007, he completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.

In 2008, he moved to the Electronics Company and engaged in management. After that he assumed the roles of General Manager of the Electronic Flat Glass Division in Electronics Company, General Manager of the Advanced Functional Glass Division and CEO of AGC Fine Techno Korea Co., Ltd.

In 2016, he supervised company-wide production engineering as General Manager of the Production Engineering Department of the Technology Division. In 2019, he assumed the roles of General Manager of the Environment, Safety & Quality Division and General Manager of the AGC Yokohama Technical Center. As the Director in charge of company-wide environment, safety, and quality, he promoted the establishment and operation of management systems and global information systems. He also drove forward the company-wide introduction of safety culture diagnosis.

Awards
In 2011, he received the Bronze award of Industrial Merit for contributions to industrial and regional development in South Korea by foreign companies from the South Korean government.
