Following last year's typhoon, earthquake or flood event, the threat of several serious disasters occurring again this year cannot be denied.

	Toshitsugu FUJII, PhD Director, Mount Fuji Research Institute, Yamanashi Prefectural Government Emeritus Professor, University of Tokyo Prof. Fujii graduated Geological Institute, Faculty of Science, University of Tokyo in 1970 and obtained PhD in 1975 from University of Tokyo. He was Assistant Professor at Geological Institute, Faculty of Science, University of Tokyo in 1975, Associate Professor at Earthquake Research Institute (ERI), University of Tokyo in 1984 and got full professorship in 1989 at ERI until retirement in 2010. He was director of ERI from 1997 to 2001, and vice-president of University of Tokyo from 2004 to 2005. He became Director of Research Institute for Disaster Mitigation and Environmental Studies, Crisis & Environmental Management Policy Institute in 2010, and Director of Mount Fuji Research Institute, Yamanashi Prefectural Government in 2014. He served as a chairman of the Coordinating Committee for the Prediction of Volcanic Eruption from 2003 to 2017. He is former President of Japanese Volcanological Society and former Vice-President of International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth’s Interior. He was a recipient, Distinguished Services Commendation in the field of disaster management, awarded by the Prime Minister.
	Kosuke Nakazawa Managing Director of Shinkenpress Ltd. Chief Editor of Risktaisaku.com Kosuke Nakazawa published a journal website Risktaisaku.com about risk management and BCP (Business Continuity Plan) in 2007. He has reported on a number of BCP cases. In 2013 he was an advisor on the project "Research on the enhancement of commercial disaster preparedness through Business Continuity Management" organized by the Cabinet Office. He was also an advisor for "Regional Plan for Disaster Prevention" from 2014 to 2016. He was assigned by Kumamoto Prefecture as an advisor for "Assessment of responses to Kumamoto Earthquake" in 2017. He has written articles on Yahoo! Japan news website since 2014. He is the director of The International Emergency Management Society Japan Chapter and secretary of The Japan Society of Community Disaster Management Plan.
	Michael Eves Appointed Actuary Reinsurance Asia Swiss Re Michael Eves, based in Singapore, is Swiss Re’s Appointed Actuary for Reinsurance Asia. In his current role, he is responsible for the actuarial oversight of Swiss Re Asia which includes reporting actuarial matters to the CEO, Board of Directors and Singapore regulatory authority. Michael is a UK Actuary with 40 years’ of experience in the re/insurance industry, of which he has been with Swiss Re for over 30 years. Prior to his current role, he was Swiss Re’s Group Chief Actuary for over 10 years, overseeing both Life & Health and Property & Casualty reinsurance business. Over the years, he has also held various senior executive positions in both Life & Health and Property & Casualty reinsurance business. He has also held several Board positions including director of Swiss Re Europe, director of ReAssure, director of Pension Insurance Company Group and director of Swiss Re L&H Australia. He has also supported the International Actuarial Association for many years holding various positions, most recently as deputy chairman of the Insurance Regulation Committee. Michael is a qualified actuary with the UK Institute of Actuaries and is now a member of the Singapore Actuarial Society. Michael is also keen on sports including: Tennis, Skiing and Golf.
	Sheema Khurshed Vice President / Claims Expert P&C Business Management Asia Swiss Re Australia Branch Sheema has direct claims handling experience and currently manages large and complex property claims and Natural Catastrophe events. Sheema has led the Swiss Re claims response to the New Zealand Earthquakes since 2010 and the 2016 Kaikoura New Zealand Earthquake. Sheema also manages the large cyclone, flood and storm events in the Australia & New Zealand market. Sheema currently heads the Swiss Re Asia Natural Catastrophe Expert Group and is a core member of the Swiss Re Global Natural Catastrophe Expert Network. Sheema has presented on lessons learnt from the New Zealand Earthquake & Natural Catastrophe Preparedness to clients in Europe, Asia and Canada. Sheema is also heavily involved with other business management functions including technical accounting, reinsurance liability management, reserving and the Large Loss Management team. Sheema is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
	Vivek Kuruvila Head of P&C Business Management Asia Managing Director Swiss Re Vivek Kuruvila is Managing Director and Head of P&C Business Management Asia in Swiss Re. Based in Singapore, he is also a member of the Business Management Executive Team and the Asia Management team. In this role, Vivek leads the Asia Regional Claims Property & Casualty team and supports the implementation of the functional Business Management strategies for the regional Technical Accounting, Client audits and reviews, Run-off management, Reserving and Operations teams. Prior to this, Vivek was the Head of Operational Excellence for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions where he was responsible for the operating model design, continuous improvement, developing its offshoring and outsourcing strategy, productivity management and digitisation. Vivek's expertise includes operations management and transformations. In 2000, he co-led the setup of Swiss Re's first green-field Shared Services Centre in Bangalore. In 2011, as the Head of Enterprise for the Group, he was responsible for developing and implementing a business transformation framework, designing business integration around Swiss Re's new operating model and for developing an information strategy for the Group. Vivek joined Swiss Re in 1997 and has worked for Swiss Re in its Zurich, London, Mumbai and Bangalore offices in a variety of roles within Property & Casualty Underwriting, Group Operations and Reinsurance Client Markets. Vivek holds an MBA from the Queensland University of Technology Australia and a Master's degree in Economics from the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics India.
