Key responsibilities

To design and develop high quality scalable and reusable code for Group Design System as well as innovative prototypes

To create robust, changeable, and scalable technology applications – from ideation, to prototyping to production delivery, across a green-field and existing modern applications

To help build and shape an increased engineering and delivery team culture, responsible for designing and implementing products at our technology platform with a quick iterative approach and focusing on ability to scale features and business processes

To be aware of and able to innovatively respond to the differing compliance, risk, and regulatory controls

To work closely with internal and external technology colleagues to design and implement creative solutions

To work alongside and within existing engineering teams in various initiatives running across the digital transformation unit

To share code, knowledge and best practices with other teams involved in delivery of the Platform to our customers

To support and implement technology best practice across Swiss Re while being a role model of technical and behavioural excellence

About You

You like experimenting with new technologies and testing how well they suit real needs

You are team focused, able to work in an environment of high levels of change and complexity

You think that long-term is built step by step and aren’t bothered by the uncertainty of walking new path

Professional Experience:

5+ years of Frontend Engineering experience, including working with practices such as continuous integration & deployment, DevSecOps and Agile approaches

Hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript

Hands-on experience with Web components & StencilJS and modern web development frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Astro, Qwik)

Experience with designing and building modern applications and infrastructure in public cloud environments, NoSQL database, MQ/streaming services, containerization, application monitoring, CI/CD tooling is desirable

Knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, AR/VR) is desirable

Awareness of IT security topics and trends, vulnerabilities and their remediation is desirable

Leadership Qualities:

Ability to introduce & encourage new ideas and enthuse the team to implementing these

Communicates effectively and influences across the technology community
