2021 Entrepreneurs for Resilience Award

Making healthcare financially accessible to low-income people

In the 2021 award cycle, we focused on innovative solutions that increase financial access to healthcare in low-income communities. To be eligible for the award, an enterprise had to take a business-minded approach that increases the resources available to households to pay for healthcare and/or that reduces health shocks that lead to poverty or economic vulnerability following a disease or an accident.

The 2021 Entrepreneurs for Resilience Award winner, Clinicas del Azúcar, was selected from among three finalists by a jury of Swiss Re senior executives, an academic representative and a Swiss Re client at a live virtual event on 19 May 2021.

Clinicas del Azúcar, and runners-up clinicPesa and Wellahealth will share the total award grant of USD 700 000 and benefit from coaching and technical advice provided by Swiss Re employees.
