Trent Thomson assumed the role of CEO, Australia & New Zealand, of Swiss Re Asia Pte. Ltd., Australia Branch on 1 November 2022. He is also the Branch Manager of Swiss Re Asia Pte. Ltd., Australia Branch, Managing Director for Swiss Re Life & Health Australia Ltd and Country President of Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to the appointment, Trent was Head of Property & Casualty at Swiss Re Australia & New Zealand and a key member of the ANZ Reinsurance leadership team. With more than 25 years' experience in the industry, Trent is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in underwriting, portfolio management, client sales and leadership roles throughout his career.
Trent joined Swiss Re in 2004 as a senior casualty treaty underwriter before moving to the US in 2013 to lead Regional & National casualty treaty. From 2016, he was Head of Casualty (Underwriting & Actuarial) for Swiss Re's largest US clients before returning to Australia as Head P&C Client Management Australia & New Zealand in 2018. He became Head of Property & Casualty Australia & New Zealand in 2020.
Trent is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute.
