After his M.Sc. graduation as Civil Engineer in geotechnics and hydraulics at the Federal Institute ofTechnology in Zurich (Switzerland) in 1989, he worked until 1994 for Basler & Hofmann AG (Zurich)as a design engineer and site supervisor on the Schaffhausen bypass tunnel project. From 1994 to1999 he worked for IM Ingegneria Maggia SA (Locarno, Switzerland) on various hydropower projectsin Switzerland.

In 1999 he joined the hydraulic division of Lombardi Ltd, where he worked as a design engineer andproject manager on various projects, including the rehabilitation of the Ferden Dam (Switzerland).

During this time, he also worked as a resident site engineer on the Casecnan Multipurpose Project inthe Philippines.

In 2003 he entered the division of underground structures of Lombardi Ltd. As Project Manager hedesigned and followed many major projects in Switzerland, such as part of the Kirchenwald tunnel,the Vedeggio-Cassarate tunnel, the bypass tunnel of the city of Lucerne, the second tube of the SaintGotthard base tunnel and lately the extension of the LHC accelerator at CERN in Geneva.

As a project manager and tunnel expert, he followed worldwide important infrastructure projects, suchas the High-Speed Railway between Los Angeles and San Francisco (USA), the Folloline tunnel inNorway, the T-48 tunnel in India as well as the underground structures of many hydropower and hydraulicprojects in South America, e.g. Alto Maipo and Los Condores (Chile), Chivor (Colombia),Toachi (Ecuador) and Marca II - Agua Para Lima (Peru).

In 2014 he became head of the underground works division. Since January 2019 he is a member ofthe steering committee as underground expert for the whole Lombardi Group.
