Finn Krueger is a Senior Economist with global cross-regional experience at Swiss Re Institute. Finn co-authored and contributed to numerous Swiss Re Institute sigma and expertise publications, covering diverse topics such as emerging & frontier markets, engineering insurance, and medical insurance in the Greater Bay Area. He also authored numerous Economic Insights publications on a wide variety of topics, such as trade protectionism, central bank independence, and the impact of gender equality on insurance. He joined Swiss Re's Economic Research and Consulting team in Zurich in 2013. In November 2018, he transferred to Swiss Re Institute in Hong Kong, where he currently focusses on re/insurance markets and the macroeconomic environment in Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and New Zealand, as well as emerging ASEAN economies. He is an active LGBTI ally.
When he joined Swiss Re, Finn was the lead analyst for the macroeconomic and re/insurance market forecasts for the emerging markets in Central and Eastern Europe. He also was responsible for macroeconomic forecasts for the United Kingdom and France, and was a member of the company's Brexit taskforce. During his time in Switzerland, Finn gained additional experience in asset management, investment strategy, risk management, and market risk through internal job rotations.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Finn completed an internship at the international trade division at the renowned think-tank ifo Institute in Munich. He obtained his master's degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland and his undergraduate degree in economics, politics and international studies from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
