Alison McLean is Head of Swiss Re's Behavioural Research Unit which uses insights from behavioural science to understand and predict customer behaviour. The BRU has conducted over 160 behavioural science trials across more than 30 countries around the world.

Alison previously worked as a Claims Medical Manager, managing a team of clinical specialists. In this role, her team was responsible for providing clinical input to claims management solutions, product design, training and the implementation of research strategies to better understand and improve claim outcomes.

Prior to joining Swiss Re, Alison has worked in clinical roles as an Occupational Therapist in both the public and private sectors. This involved providing therapeutic intervention to optimise people’s functional ability after sustaining injury or illness.

Alison has completed a Master of Science in Health Economics, Policy and Management (London School of Economics), holds a Master of Health Science in Health and Environment (Queensland University of Technology) and a Bachelor of Health Science Occupational Therapy (University of Newcastle, Australia).

In her spare time, Alison enjoys running, including participating in the Medoc Marathon when she can combine the love of running with enjoying the wines of the region.
