Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Sharecare currently has around 2,500 employees across the globe serving consumers directly as well as through health plans, employers, hospital systems and other sponsors of care such as the US Department of Defense. Nearly 41 million people have shared more than 6 billion data points about their health status and habits with Sharecare through the clinically validated RealAge Test, which uses that information to create a comprehensive health profile allowing users to access all of their health in one place, and dynamically connect to the knowledge, evidence-based programs and health professionals they need.
Sharecare seeks to engage consumers and drive sustainable behaviour change, regardless of where they are on their health journey. This change is the product of personalisation, interoperability and integration with a consumer's lifestyle. The basis of this interaction is enabled through data acquisition via self reporting and connectivity to a wide variety of wearable devices and sensors including FitBit, Jawbone or other devices. The most effective and sustainable engagement is accomplished when data acquisition is made “frictionless”, requiring the consumer to do little or nothing to provide relevant data. The real value occurs when that data is transformed into relevant insights and actionable intelligence that allows the consumer to take productive action on their health.
The Sharecare platform provides it users with a daily programme of goals designed to bring down RealAge targets (as part of its RealAge Test). It establishes real time personalised insights and engagement with its customers; customised programmes and peer to peer challenges; and the ability to get answers to health-related questions and create and share their personal health record. In doing so, Sharecare utilises the latest interactive technologies and predictive analytics in delivering its health and fitness advice. These include voice recognition, artificial intelligence/machine learning, virtual reality and digital assistants. The main means of delivery is intended to be through mobile devices, with support from a complementary web experience.
