Christian Etzensperger is a Senior Risk Manager focusing on risk foresight and sustainability.
Prior to joining Swiss Re in 2018, Christian held several positions at frontier market asset manager responsAbility Investments AG from 2010 to 2017. He established the company’s research department, serving investors as assets grew from USD 800m to USD 3bn. He joined the senior management as Head Corporate Strategy and Chief of Staff, curating two business plans, a 12m-capital raise, the founder/CEO transition and several corporate and business development initiatives. He was on extended missions to Latin America, South Asia and East Africa and has published on economic development, frontier markets, sustainable investments and impact investing.
From 2007 to 2010, Christian was an economist with Credit Suisse Economic Research, specializing in macroeconomic and business model analysis, steering credit portfolios through the financial crisis. He joined Credit Suisse from Vontobel, where he was a quantitative risk analyst and market risk controller focusing on the bank’s derivatives business.
Christian holds a Master’s degree in Economics (Fribourg, Madrid) and a MSc (Distinction) in Economic Development from University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School. He has earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and completed the Oxford High Performance Leadership Programme.
