Katja Gentinetta holds a Ph.D. in political philosophy from the University of Zurich for her thesis on the limits of tolerance in multicultural societies. She completed her studies in Paris, Salzburg and Harvard in cultural and government management.
From 2006 to 2011 Katja Gentinetta was Deputy Director of the leading think tank of Switzerland, Avenir Suisse. Besides that, Katja Gentinetta was host of the “Sternstunde Philosophie” at Swiss Public Television. Before that, she was responsible for strategy and external affairs in the Canton of Aargau. As project manager for the Expo.02 she presented the Canton at the national exhibition. She started her career as director of the cultural institution “Forum Schlossplatz” in Aarau.
Katja Gentinetta wrote several books on social and political issues such as the welfare state and the relations between Switzerland and the EU. She is a well-known key note speaker in Switzerland and abroad and a regular contributor to the Swiss media.
Katja Gentinetta is married. She lives with her husband in Lenzburg and Paris.
