Since 2006, Professor James Ferguson has been the Clinical Lead of the Scottish Centre for Telehealth and Telecare (SCTT). The Centre is currently implementing a range of national programmes within Scotland, some of which are conducted in collaboration with European partners.
James Ferguson is a Visiting Professor of remote healthcare to the Robert Gordon University and a Reader in Emergency Medicine with Aberdeen University. He is retained by Eon Productions as a medical advisor.
In 1994, he was appointed as Consultant in EM, with a specialist interest in Paediatric EM, in 1994, acting as Head of Service of the Emergency Department at the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital from 1994-2000.
Professor James Ferguson graduated in medicine from Aberdeen University in 1983 and holds Fellowships of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh (in both General Surgery and Accident and Emergency Medicine), Physicians of Edinburgh and Emergency Medicine (EM).
