He received his MSc in Laboratory sciences (1992) at the Polytechnic School, Vlissingen, NL. His second MSc was in Biomedical Sciences and Toxicology (1995) at the University of Nijmegen, NL. His PhD (2000) was at the University of Groningen, NL. Since 2000 his major goal is to integrate, translate and implement his physiology expertise to day-to-day (living-lab) Nutrition and Health intervention and policy. Especially in the field of chronic diseases and lifestyle/nutrition. All previous work experience at the Leiden University Medical Center, NL, the Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School, USA and as Director of the Disease Model Core, Institute of Metabolic Science, University of Cambridge, UK and now Louis Bolk Institute makes Peter a respected and valued expert in the field. In the last 20 years he published more than 100 highly ranked papers.
