FERMA Forum 2015
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions recently participated as a gold partner of the bi-annual Federation of European Risk Managers Association (FERMA) Forum. The FERMA Forum is one of the largest and most important European risk and insurance management events. It is specifically designed by risk managers to give risk managers an opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge, to help influence business decisions and to ensure that good risk management standards are integrated into business processes.
Its 2015 edition took place in the beautiful city of Venice from 4 - 7 October and provided an exciting opportunity to inspire, educate and influence how risk is managed in a riskier world. Over 1,500 delegates including directors, risk managers and insurers from across Europe came together to share perspectives.
Nineteen senior delegates represented the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions EMEA team, including three experts invited to participate in panel discussions. Robert Llewellyn, Senior Political Risk Underwriter, participated in the "Geopolitical risks" panel, which analyzed the risk associated with plunging oil prices combined with political instability. Roy Baumann, Co-Head Non-Standard Solutions EMEA, participated in the “Value of insurance” panel. He elaborated on how to look at insurance from a value creation perspective. Urs Neukomm, Co-Head Non-Standard Solutions EMEA, participated in the panel "The future of business interruption." He explained what managers can do to assess risks that don't imply a physical damage or loss.
The team also clearly showed how they are bringing to life the brand promise 'We're smarter together,' which highlights the spirit of collaboration that allows us and our clients to do things together that we couldn’t on our own.
The team welcomed more than 400 visitors to the exhibition stand over the three days of the conference and offered excellent opportunities for networking and relationship building. There was a fun quiz where participants could test their knowledge about Italy and Venice, as well as a draw with the chance to win an Apple Watch.
