Swiss Re qualifies for the 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index

Swiss Re has been recognised for the third year running for its commitment to and transparency with respect to gender equality.

The 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) includes 380 firms in 44 countries and regions across 11 sectors that have demonstrated a commitment to equality, inclusiveness and women’s advancement in the workplace. More and more, investors focus on companies’ handling of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and require companies in their portfolios to increase disclosure. The GEI index provides greater transparency on this front and helps investors assess companies’ ESG approaches.

Swiss Re has been included in the GEI for the third year in a row after providing internal statistics as well as extensive information on our policies, practices and goals related to gender equality. The topics analysed include factors such as female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture and sexual harassment policies.

"Being part of the GEI reflects our strong commitment to gender equality and inclusion – including our comprehensive flexible work policies – as well as our ability to attract talented, diverse people and ESG-focused investors. We’re proud to be part of the Bloomberg GEI and have come a long way toward creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. However, we recognise that women continue to be underrepresented in our executive and senior management and are working hard to attract and retain women at every organisational level. The results of this index help both to demonstrate our commitment to gender equality and to focus on the right actions for the future."
