The graphs show the figures of Swiss Re at year-end 2023 and include all active and inactive employees of Swiss Re. ElipsLife employees are included in 2021 figures only as the company was sold in 2022. You can find further information in the data appendix of the Sustainability Report 2023.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Swiss Re strives to ensure an-inclusive first culture where all employees can bring their whole selves to work, feel a sense of belonging and work together for impact. The company believes that a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment fosters greater innovation and ultimately better business performance.

The age split of our employee base has naturally changed. We lead and manage a diverse generation mix.

We are an organisation where diverse talents come together globally to apply fresh perspectives and knowledge to make the world more resilient. The fastest growing locations are our Business Solutions Centres in Bratislava, Slovakia as well as Bengaluru and Hyderabad in India, which provide us with access to different talent pools.

Swiss Re employs 15 032 people, of which 14 719 are permanent positions (as of 31 December 2023). Of the total head count, 52.2% work in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), 24% in the Americas and 23.8% in Asia Pacific (APAC) region. A total of 120 nationalities are represented at Swiss Re.
