As host of motor racing's most spectacular event, Monaco traditionally has been a hot spot for motoring enthusiasts. As a result, over 100,000 cars now travel in and out of Monaco each day, having a significant impact on air quality. To counteract this, the Monaco government now provides a subsidy of 30% on the purchase of electric cars, and there are some 423 charging points dotted around the city. Monaco is changing with the times.

Re/insurance is no different. Whether it's dealing with the impact of prevailing monetary policy, responding to changing regulations or reinventing business models to respond to technological changes – our industry continues like many others to adapt to this constant state of change. At Swiss Re, we see one of our key roles as helping our clients and partners navigate these changes with the right balance of solutions and services.

Swiss Re's presence at RVS Monte Carlo continues to evolve. It's only my second year of attendance but we're already extending our programme by hosting the B3i consortium event on Sunday late afternoon. And of course I'm really looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible at the Swiss Re pavilion on Avenue de Monte Carlo.

I hope to see you there.
