Initially published in 1968 as "A reinsurance manual of the non-life branches", this comprehensive reference work covering the fundamentals of traditional reinsurance has proved a veritable frontrunner among Swiss Re’s publications and has become well established throughout the industry.
Recently updated and expanded, the newly titled "Reinsurance matters – A manual of the non-life branches" is the product of numerous in-house specialists. While intended primarily to satisfy the requirements of the underwriter, it also provides a useful overview of reinsurance matters for the lay readership. Retaining the core basics of the first edition, the new manual also focuses on aspects such as the dynamic interconnections of technical reinsurance coupled with attendant legal and fiscal factors. Further, it is supplemented by several new topics which are indicative of the direction and manner in which the re/insurance business is likely to evolve.
