While the original members of the European Union (EU) established a standard for strict product liability aimed at a harmonising effect, national laws in the various European countries still contain potential pitfalls for those attempting to assess, litigate and resolve claims and remedies brought against manufacturers, importers and others involved in commerce in Europe.
