Connolly and Hansen to Co-Head Equity and Equity Linked Business
Swiss Re Capital Management and Advisory (CMA) has named Llewellyn Connolly and Matthew Hansen to co-head the Equity and Equity Linked business. Their unit will structure, trade and market innovative risk management and investment solutions to institutional clients as well as participate in a variety of trading strategies. They will report to Phil Lotz, Business Sector CEO.
“Both Llewellyn and Matthew bring to Swiss Re a wealth of experience and expertise in the areas of equity derivatives, structured products and proprietary trading,” said Lotz.
Connolly joins Swiss Re from Lehman Brothers Inc., where he had served as Co-head of US Equity Derivatives since 2003. Prior to that, Connolly was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs International in London where he was Co-head of the Structured Solutions Group, a Fixed Income and Equity joint venture.
He is a 1988 magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, with a BA in Applied Physics and Engineering Sciences. He received an MBA from Harvard in 1993.
Hansen joins Swiss Re from Lehman Brothers where he served as Head of Structured Product Sales. Previously, Hansen was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in structured products. He is a 1991 graduate of Stanford University, Stanford, CA, with a BS in Quantitative Economics.
