NORIS Nordic Risk & Insurance Summit
Recently the world has experienced some of its biggest natural disasters and man-made losses.
Also the Nordic countries have recently experienced two severe winter storms. Erwin, which struck in January 2005 as a pan-Nordic winter storm, hit (re)insurers operating in multiple markets particularly hard, causing insured losses of about EUR 900 million. Winter storm “Anatol” in December 1999), on the other hand, resulted in a loss for the insurance industry of EUR 1.9 billion.
Swiss Re experts predict that such losses are no exception.
Against this backdrop, the insurance industry is called upon to make a contribution to the global discussion on risk.
As one of the world’s leading reinsurers, Swiss Re hosts numerous different activities with the aim of promoting a dialogue with its stakeholders. NORIS is the first event organised specifically for the Nordic region. Its objective is to establish a regular forum for a personal dialogue with clients and stakeholders in the region.
