The North American Specialty Group (NAS Group) provides its clients with top-quality primary company products and services backed by the financial and underwriting strength of the Swiss Re Group.
NAS Group includes four insurance companies that support Swiss Re's clients requiring primary company products and services. These four companies have broad license authority, in place product filings and an unusually strong primary company skill set to create value for Swiss Re clients through product or market expansion or when customized product solutions are required. The NAS Group companies include:
North American Specialty (NAS) is a property & casualty insurer licensed in all 50 US states, the District of Columbia and all provinces/territories in Canada.
North American Capacity (NAC) is a surplus lines carrier authorized in 49 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands and licensed in New Hampshire.
North American Elite (NAE) is a property & casualty insurer fully licensed in 44 US states and the District of Columbia and an approved/accredited reinsurer in six states as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
Washington International (WIIC) is a property & casualty insurer licensed in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia and is used primarily for surety insurance.
All four companies have an “A+” (Superior), Class XV, rating from A.M. Best. The three North American Companies have a “AA” insurer financial strength rating from Standard & Poor’s. NAS Group home office is located in Manchester, NH with branch offices in Atlanta, GA, Culver City, CA, Frisco, TX, Itasca, IL, Orange, CA, Boise, ID and Hiawatha, IA.

NAS - Canadian branch
North American Specialty Insurance Company - Canadian branch (NAS - Canadian branch) is a primary insurance company licensed in all provinces and territories and by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.
Canadian consumer disclosures regarding insurance brokers and privacy policy
NAS - Canadian branch pays to its brokers commissions that are negotiated individually on a case-by-case basis. These commissions may range from 0 to 30% of the total premium. We do not pay contingent commissions to our brokers. NAS - Canadian branch has no equity investment in Canadian brokerages, nor does it provide other forms of financing to Canadian brokerages or their staffs.
