Swiss Re has been active in Asia-Pacific since the early 1900s, having signed its first fire treaty with a Japanese insurer in 1913. The company has had offices in the region since 1956, opening in Hong Kong and Australia in 1956. Today, Swiss Re has its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong, and offices throughout all major insurance markets, employing close to 1,000 staff who deliver the breadth and depth of Swiss Re's expertise to clients across the region.
