Deputy Account Manager, Armonk/NY
We are looking for a Deputy Account Manager for our Armonk, NY office. In this role, the qualified individual will be responsible for working in close collaboration with the head of marketing, other account managers, account executives, underwriters, actuaries and other specialists to produce and retain profitable treaty and facultative business from assigned existing and prospective clients.
The Deputy Account Manager is Responsible for growing the bottom lines of his assigned markets and client segments in accordance with Business Unit Plan & Targets. To achieve this, the Deputy Account Manager has to:
- Execute BULA’s Marketing Strategy for the assigned markets and clients.
- Execution of the “Marketing Process” for assigned markets and clients,
- Develop specific marketing plans for each assigned market or client segment
- Know the overall Marine strategy for his clients and contribute to it by exchanging information (business inventory, relationship information, contract issues etc.) with special lines staff. Decisions affecting the broader relationships should be based on consensus. If this is not possible, the case has to be escalated to the next level.
- Work together with the Financial Services Business Group to evaluate the capital and risk financing needs of his clients. The primary responsibility of the Deputy Account Manager is to understand how financial and capital management issues affect traditional reinsurance buying. Assist in cross-selling non-traditional or capital management products.
- Work together with the Life and Health Business Group to understand relationship, know the overall strategy for their clients and contribute to it by exchanging information with L&H staff.
The following background and skills are required:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in reinsurance industry, preferably in marketing and/or underwriting positions in or in relation with Latin American markets
- Preferred background: financial/business administration (preferred: bachelors degree or equivalent work experience)
- Client oriented (internal and external)
- Superior negotiation, sales and communication skills
- Wide network of contacts in Latin American Insurance and Reinsurance markets
- Good technical understanding of insurance and reinsurance
- Structured approach/good planner
- Strong analytical skills
- Result driven
- Team oriented
- Innovative (e.g. process improvements)
- Good communication skills in English and Spanish
