Climate change factsheets
Swiss Re identified climate change as an emerging risk more than a decade ago.
This topic has since evolved into a key component of the company’s long-term risk management strategy. Swiss Re’s on-going research programme strives to achieve a better understanding of the implications of climate change for our business by investigating specific re/insurance-relevant areas. The projects we undertake broaden our understanding of the risk associated with this topic and the results are made available to our stakeholders.
Swiss Re collaborates with ProClim, an organisation which coordinates both integrated research activities and the necessary linkages among scientists, policymakers and the public. On behalf of Swiss Re, ProClim monitors the latest research worldwide on climate change and summarises the findings in so-called ‘Climate change factsheets’ which can be downloaded from the list.
