Corporate responsibility
Corporate Responsibility represents Swiss Re’s overarching commitment to being accountable to all stakeholders in its operations and activities. It contributes to sustainable development in the economic, social and environmental dimensions.
At Swiss Re, Corporate Responsibility is divided into three areas:
Corporate Governance is the framework comprising the company's organisation, structure, management and assurance functions. It is designed to ensure transparency, protect the interests of shareholders and create value for all stakeholders.
Corporate Sustainability covers Swiss Re’s commitment, processes and activities to:
- achieve ethical as well as socially and environmentally responsible business practices to manage the corresponding risks and opportunities;
- minimize the direct impacts of its operations on the environment and society; and
-
achieve sustainability in Swiss Re’s relationships with employees.
Corporate Citizenship denotes our activities in the field of philanthropy, sponsoring and volunteering, which are centered around the themes of humanitarian challenges, sustainability and community support.
Corporate Responsibility Reporting: Swiss Re reports annually on its activities and progress with regard to the corporate responsibility framework.
