The American Red Cross – Westchester County, Disaster Preparedness Academy
In 2003 business and community leaders developed this programme aimed at training volunteers to respond to disasters. Swiss Re is keen to promote disaster preparedness and participates actively in the academy's planning committee.
New York Cares – Mobilising caring New Yorkers in voluntary service
This multi-faceted organisation provides support for thousands of volunteer workers in the New York area. Swiss Re not only donates but supports some of the programmes such as the annual winter coat collection which in 2005 collected and distributed its millionth coat.
Christmas Collection
The Employees' Association Zurich holds an annual Christmas collection for its employees the proceeds of which are matched by Swiss Re. The donations go to people in Switzerland who find themselves in financial need.
Dollars 4 Doers volunteering programme
“Dollars 4 Doers” provides financial support for projects that Swiss employees are actively involved in during their free time.

- Minds Matter of NYC, Inc.: Not-for-profit mentoring organisation that provides guidance to high school students (submitted by a Swiss Re employee in NY)
- Ananas: Not-for-profit organisation that supports people suffering from neurofibromatosis (submitted by a Swiss Re employee in Rome)
- Cambodia Orphanage Project: Provides aid to an orphanage in Cambodia (submitted by a Swiss Re employee in Hong Kong)
