Swiss Re establishes healthcare services advisory company Names Girish Rao, Managing Director

Swiss Re today announced the appointment of Girish Rao, former CEO of the TTK Group-Swiss Re joint venture company TTK Healthcare Services Pvt. Ltd., as Managing Director of Swiss Re's newly established healthcare services advisory company, Swiss Re Healthcare Services Pvt. Ltd.

Swiss Re Healthcare Services Pvt. Ltd* will focus on individual product development and corporate health schemes to assist health insurance companies in rapidly expanding the market in India.

'Swiss Re Healthcare Services is designed to enhance existing market skills in product development, pricing and risk management for the benefit of India's growing health insurance industry,' said Jean-Michel Chatagny, Swiss Re's Managing Director, Client Markets Asia. 'Mr. Rao's leadership and his track record of innovation and success in the health insurance industry will be an important asset in our path to delivering this benefit,' he added.

Based in Bangalore, Swiss Re Healthcare Services' product development expertise will be focused on assisting health insurance providers develop a full suite of products -- from comprehensive medical expenses insurance products to ancillary services including wellness and disease management programmes -- that reflect state-of-the-art international product trends.
