The Zürcher Theater Spektakel, founded in 1980, ranks among the most important European festivals for contemporary performing art.
In late August each year, the 18-day lakeside festival transforms Zurich’s Landiwiese into a cultural mecca.
Swiss Re is proud to be one of the festival’s three key partners since 1994.
In recent years, Swiss Re has additionally supported the realisation of three major projects, one of which enabled the festival to become carbon-neutral and the other of which ensured that all its shows are accessible to viewers with disabilities.
For the 2016 edition of the Zürcher Theater Spektakel, we drew on our experience in architecture and construction to contribute to the creation and planning of its new venue "Pavillon". Featuring art exhibitions and installations, this distinguished space serves as a central meeting point as well as a modular platform for different productions during the festival. Our participation focused on the theatre’s collaboration with ETH Zurich to find the best solution with respect to flexibility in use of space and application of sustainable materials.
Swiss Re was insurance industry sector leader in the 2016 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the third consecutive year and the tenth time since 2004.
