Our approach to corporate responsbility

Our approach to corporate responsibility

We have a clear understanding of what it means to be a responsible company. Our approach is defined by our values, the Group Code of Conduct and our "Commitment to Corporate Responsibility".

What we mean by "corporate responsibility"

"Corporate responsibility" expresses Swiss Re's commitment to being an open, honest and transparent organisation that treats all its stakeholders – clients, shareholders, employees, government regulators and the general public – with respect and integrity.

Enabling sustainable progress

We put a special focus on taking the long-term view, thus playing our part in enabling sustainable progress. This long-term view is embedded in both our value foundation and the Group Code of Conduct.

Focus areas

We implement our commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainable progress by taking appropriate actions in many areas of our business. These include our re/insurance solutions, risk management, our own footprint, stakeholder dialogue and corporate citizenship. Key issues are defined for each of these areas.
