Swiss Re's Insurance & Specialty delegation joined more than 550 in-house brokers and risk managers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the 2010 Deutscher Versicherungs-Schutzverband (DVS) Symposium, one of the leading gatherings for the insurance and risk management industry in Europe. Held in Munich on 7-9 September, the event once again provided a solid platform for Swiss Re to showcase its expertise and broad product offerings.

Fred Kleiterp, Head of Insurance & Specialty's Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and Asia unit, led the Swiss Re delegation at the three-day gathering, which combines a trade show exhibition, dozens of face-to-face client meetings, as well as interactive panel discussions focused on significant industry topics.

The sponsorship -- which includes the company's logo prominently displayed on the trade floor, main conference programme, welcome coffee break and plenary sessions -- underlines the importance of the event for Swiss Re. This year's stand (booth) on the trade show floor drew an ever-larger number of visitors and served as a meeting point for discussions with existing customers, as well as a starting point for discussions with prospects. Additionally, Peter Bütikofer, Swiss Re's Head of Global Risk Engineering, participated in a roundtable discussion focused on business interruption without preliminary claims.
