The annual Global Commodities Finance Conference, organised by Euromoney, is one of the key annual meetings of the international commodity finance community. On the second day of conference, Swiss Re’s Bernard Belk, Director, Global AgriCorporate Business, participated in the panel session entitled: "Soft commodity review: Assessing trends, challenges and solutions across the agricultural sector." Mr. Belk presented innovative crop-shortfall insurance, weather-based index covers and structured price hedges used to mitigate the financial impact of lower than expected raw material production and tailored to the needs of the various stakeholders across the agricultural supply chain, from input suppliers to commodities processors.
