Life & Health guidelines

Life Guide

Life Guide is Swiss Re’s web based life and health underwriting manual which is used internally by Swiss Re and client underwriters, to assess and accept risks.

We like to think of it as a "one stop shop" which contains all of our underwriting guidelines for life, critical illness, disability income, long term care, annuities, medical expenses, personal accident and cancer cover.

The manual covers medical, occupational, financial, sport and residential risks with a whole host of functionality such as calculators and a ratings cart to aid in the underwriting process.

In addition, it contains extensive anatomy and physiology information, images, questionnaires, eLearning and other training materials, webinars, publications and news.

Used in over 90 countries and in ten languages, at its core are an expert team of underwriters, doctors, and actuaries who monitor the latest global developments and work with consumers, distributors and regulators.

There are two versions of Life Guide. The 'Life Guide' login link is the global version which has been translated into 10 languages and has specific market content. The 'North American Life Guide' login is specifically for the North American market.

Juvenile Guide

Juvenile Guide is Swiss Re's web based life and health underwriting manual especially designed for risk assessment of young lives.  The manual deals with the most important medical and financial aspects of underwriting juvenile lives, providing practical guidelines for the most common childhood impairments and genetic risks.
